Hospital Beds

This may seem like one of the more mundane subjects I'm likely to comment on, but, having been hospitalized three times this fall, it's something that I am quite serious about.

One would think that, having spent billions upon billions of dollars and euros over the past few decades on improving medical equipment and procedures, they would invent a comfortable bed.

Part of the problem, of course, is that, with needles in your arms, it's not possible to sleep on your side. Beyond that, there has to be a better design for the bed.

I really see this as a serious problem for the medical community. Being so uncomfortable can have a negative effect on one's desire to live. I have to concede that the opposite effect is also present: It causes one to want to get out of the bed as soon as possible, but ...
